The Wisconsin
Sheriffs and Deputy Sheriffs Association annual scholarship
award program was developed to offer financial assistance to
full-time students in Wisconsin Technical College System Police
Science programs. Its purpose is to encourage educational growth
and professionalism among police officers and deputy sheriffs
in the State of Wisconsin.
Fourteen
$750 scholarships will be awarded and winners will be selected
on a competitive basis. Any Wisconsin state resident that is
enrolling in a WTCS school, and has a course of study leading
to a two-year degree in law enforcement, is eligible.
The District
Director of this association selects scholarship recipients.
All decisions made by the Director are final.
The recipient
must submit proof of his/her enrollment in the accredited vocational
/technical school. Awards are not retroactive and may not be
credited to semesters already completed. Recipient must be enrolled
in the fall semester of 2008. After the student has submitted
proof of enrollment, a check for the scholarship award will
be given directly to the scholarship recipient.

Scholarship
Rules
1. Application must comply with the admission requirements for
a full-time student in a Police Science Program at a vocational/technical
college.
2. To apply:

a.
Fill out and submit the attached scholarship application in
its entirety.

b.
Enclose three letters of recommendation from three separate
sources, which may include family members, school, neighbor,
clergy, employer, civic organization, law enforcement, etc.

c.
Enclose a transcript of high school grades and/or technical
college transcript of grades.

d.
Relatives of employees of law enforcement agency are encouraged
to apply.

e.
Enclose a recent photo for use in the Wisconsin Sheriff and
Deputy, the WS &DSA quarterly newsletter.

f.
Failure to comply with instructions will result in ineligibility.

g.
Scholarship applications must be postmarked no later than
March 1, 2008 and mailed to:

Sheriffs & Deputy Sheriffs Association has long been a vital
element in the continuing process of improving law enforcement

What
is the FVTC Foundation, Inc.?
The Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) Foundation, Inc., is
a separate, non-profit organization, which receives, holds and
disburses funds for the betterment of college. The Foundation
was developed in 1978 to provide a means for people to participate
in the support of the college.
