WISCONSIN SHERIFFS & DEPUTY SHERIFFS
ASSOCIATION
BADGER STATE SHERIFFS ASSOCIATION
LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE
MINUTES
April 3, 2008
Location: Glacier Canyon Lodge Conference Center,
Wilderness Hotel Resort, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin
The joint meeting of the Wisconsin Sheriffs &
Deputy Sheriffs Association and the Badger State Sheriff’s Association was
called to order by R. J. Lurquin.
Present: Wisconsin Sheriffs & Deputy Sheriffs
Association members, R. J. Lurquin, Randy Stammen, Michael Weissenberger, Bruce
Daniels, Paul Gunness, Scott Pedley, Doris Daggett, Roger Brandner, Jr., Jeff
Wiswell, Maury Straub and James Cardinal. Badger State Sheriff’s Association
members, David Graves and David Mahoney.
Discussion
regarding the legislation as listed for this meeting appears to be very lengthy
and plus in general the current legislative session is over. Any of the bills that
would come up at the last minute as per this list, members would be contacted
to vote on that bill. Jeff Wiswell stated he would check the hearing notice
each day and attempt to keep members posted by email. It was agreed we would
follow that procedure. No action was taken on the bills listed in this agenda.
Jeff
Wiswell suggested that maybe next year a calendar could be set up to review the
bills on a regular basis.
Motion
made to adjourn by Maury Straub and seconded by David Graves. Motion carried.
James I. Cardinal, Secretary
Joint Legislative Committee
